Canaries 1-2 BAC Continental Casuals

Sunday 4th December 2011

Another spirited display could not prevent Canaries from slipping to a defeat. Canaries had the better of the play for the majority of the game but again their failure to convert chances cost them dearly.

A bright opening in dreadful conditions saw some great link up play involving Toorawah, Ahmed and Hafeji but Hafeji placed his shot wide. Hafeji was becoming more and more influential as he drove at BAC time and time again. In fact, Hafeji could have had a couple of goals if only he had bought his shooting boots. The tireless Kaiser Ahmed could have opened the scoring after Ali had rounded the keeper and pulled the ball back, but Ahmed couldn't direct his shot on target. An eventful first half which Canaries shaded with Majoo relatively untroubled at the other end.

The second half saw BAC come back more into the game, as a depleted Canaries side struggled to create any clear cut chances in the opening exchanges. A quick free kick from BAC caught out Canaries, as they broke to make it 1-0. Saj Kalang, Toorawah and Hafeji had half chances to equalise but couldn't convert as Khan drove forward with purpose.Canaries got a deserved equaliser when Mo Ali was bundled over for captain Tufail Ahmed to drive home the penalty and make it 1-1.

As the game looked to be heading for a draw, BAC snatched a winner, when Majoo failed to keep out a shot following a free kick. A final flurry from Canaries almost resulted in an equaliser as Toorawah shot straight at the keeper from 10 yards but it wasn't to be.

MOTM - Suleman Hafeji - a real driving performance, taking the game to BAC. Unlucky not to have had a couple of goals.
