Ingol Rangers 4-3 Canaries
at Preston Sports Arena: 29th January 2012
Following 2 weeks without a game, Canaries fell to an agonising defeat, as a late goal from Ingol Rangers condemned the away side to an eighth defeat of the season.
Ingol Rangers started the game as the better team, forcing Canaries on the backfoot. Keeper Majoo was having a superb game as he pulled off 2 fantastic saves in the first 20 mins. Ingol went ahead, as Majoo was wrong footed following a flick on, allowing the Ingol striker to finish. Canaries suddenly responded as they regained shape and launched a series of attacks. Following a corner, Canaries equalised when good work from skipper Ahmed, allowed Otutu to sweep home.
Ingol responded when a quickly taken free-kick caught the away team napping, allowing the opposition striker to tap home. Back came Canaries, with Mo Ali working the channels superbly. A quick break by Toorawah, saw a cross crash against the angle of post and bar, allowing Hafeji to lash home the equaliser, just before half-time.
Canaries looked much more composed in the second half, with excellent shape. The defence was looking comfortable with Haji the pick of the bunch. A long cross field ball by Lulat found Toorawah whose excellent cross found top scorer Baroot, who slid home as Canaries finally took the lead.
Moments later, Ingol equalised as a cruel deflection, wrong footed Majoo. The next goal was likely to seal the game and Canaries should have scored when Ali rounded the keeper but as the ball trickled towards an empty net, the Ingol defender produced a brilliant clearance. Another chance went begging as Ingol struck a cruel blow minutes from the end, when the unmarked striker headed home. Canaries forced some late late pressure but were unable to get the equaliser.
The defeat leaves Canaries hovering just above the relegation zone, with some tough games to play.
MOTM - Bilal Majoo - a great first half showing, which kept Canaries in the game. Unlucky to be on the losing side.
